Blogspot - Yikes!

Sorry for the lack of updates over the last few days! Blogspot would not allow updates for some strange reason.

Tonight's homework: Write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) using INCORRECT homophones. Remember my paragraph about talking to Dr. C where I used all the wrong "there's?" You choose the homophone. The object is to bring in a paragraph that can be corrected by a classmate. Try to make it funny!

Oh, and Gig 'Em, Ags!!! BTHO OSU tonight.

Love ya!

College Day @ Chrysalis!

Saluting my favorite colleges on a terrific day...

Congratulations to my 6th graders for the AWESOME representation this week! You looked positively FABULOUS on Professional Dress Day and your college attire has me completely excited about your future. Don't worry!!! I will be ok!!! I have some Benadryl (allergy medication) to help me with my reaction to all the burnt orange..... Kidding aside, get there, get in, graduate - I will come to your ceremony decked from head to toe in orange, including an orange hankie to dry my tears of PRIDE!!!

Good job & thanks for reminding teachers, administrators, parents, and community members why you truly are "The Pride of the Eastside!"

Love ya!!!

Blue Monday!

HW Assignment:

Use the word chart that you got in class. Choose 3 words from your personal reader. Follow instructions on the word chart. Turn in tomorrow at 7:30 am. :)

Boo, hiss, boo hoo! For those of you who have not heard, I had a HORRIBLE football weekend. Yes, the Texans made me feel a bit better, but...

I HAVE NO Cougars quarterbacks!!! I know what a UCLA Bruin is now...it's a Coog quarterback eater. Both of mine are out for the entire season, Keenum with a torn ACL & Turner with a broken collarbone. We have a truly amazing freshman who played most of the second half. Broadway should be really good & did an utterly fantastic job coming in to the famous Rose Bowl with no experience. BUT, the poor baby doesn't even know the playbook, yet.

Goes to show that what we say about appreciating and getting your education is right. Books first, because you never know when it could all end. Fortunately, Keenum is a truly unique young man who will be a shining star in anything he chooses. Glad of that....

Hope my week with my INCREDIBLE Chrysalis Family gets better in a hurry!

Absolutely FABULOUS Football Weekend!

Even Monday morning is a bit easier to take on the heels of this sort of football weekend! Every one of my teams repped in fine fashion.

I was; however, a little concerned about the condition of your poor teacher's Cougar heart on Friday night. Early in the third quarter of the UH game, both of my very most favorite players went down. Wide Receiver Patrick Edwards and Quarterback Case Keenum were slow to get up after an exceptionally nasty play. For a few minutes there, my old heart stopped beating... Turns out Edwards was cramping from the nasty weather, but my favorite quarterback got knocked a bit coo-coo from a blow to the head. As you can see in the pic, he is okay, but suffered a mild concussion and will be watched closely by medical staff. Here's wishing a speedy recovery to possibly the MOST incredible young man to ever suit up in Cougar red!

My Aggies, after a slow start, found their groove too and went on to stomp the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Alright Ags, now we need to test your skills against some Division I teams. It's not nice to go around beating up on the little guys!

How 'bout those Texans?!? What an amazing game that I kept waiting for us to find a way to lose. I am so happy that it never happened!!!

And with that, ....Have a Lovely Monday Morning!

Very Happy Teacher!!!

Yes, it is true! You will have a very happy teacher in the morning!

Watched my son, Cameron conduct The Spirit of Houston for the first time. Coogs & Aggies had resounding victories. Saw a fantastic movie with 2 of my favorite people. And, sitting on porch with Starbuck's & watching rain. The simple joys.

Speaking of joy, "Mao's Last Dancer" made me think of all the joy in my life. Sometimes it gets lost in the day to day craziness, but I'm always happy when something reminds me!

Did you read? No, this doesn't count. Go grab something, fast, lots of time before lights out.

Pics coming as soon as I get to school & off of Blackberry.
